Express yourself

Traffic cop

What kind of cop are you?

As I walked to lunch today I had to cross a big intersection. Because of construction the traffic lights were out and two cops were directing the cars and pedestrians.

One of them, an older guy, was charming. He brought so much of his personality into his hand signals that he had me watching him grinning ear to ear. The other cop a young women did the hand signals by the book and looked annoyed in the sveltering mid-summer noon heat.

As I continued my walk, I thought about the two of them. Both

Bullying and the Law of Attraction

This morning I stumbled over the follwoing quote and it really touched me:

Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength. ~Eric Hoffer

Very often in business and also in ones private life people of little personal power or knowledge move to rude and insulting behavior when they feel threatened in any way. Unfortunately, often such people feel threatened even when there is nothing to feel threatened about. They are just playing out their own personal drama and insecurities. I also see this behaviour frequently on mailing lists and public message boards. The goal of people who operate like that

Travel light through life

Do you travel light through life?

Having travelled a lot on business, I have gotten extremely efficient and matter of fact about packing. I can be packed-up and out the door for a two day trip in less than 10 minutes. I like to travel light. This allows me to bring my bag into the cabin. No waiting at the luggage belt after arrival for me. No lost luggage either. Over the years, I have of course, learned what the essentials are that I must bring to make my trip perfect.

Our life is a journey, too. A wonderful

Perspective

“He wants to be the boss!”, “She doesn’t like me”, “He is lazy!”, “She is stupid!”. In my work as a behavior therapist for animals I hear statements like this all the time. They are used by exasperated owners to explain the problems they are having with their companion animals. These statements are, of course, completely from the owner’s perspective and highly interpretative. They do not explain what the animal is going through. They do tell me a lot, however, about how the owner perceives the problem.

The only way one can ever achieve behavioral change in an animal is

Inspiring quotes - Human Success

Good morning,

Often I come across a quote that I find inspiring.

This morning I decided to share them with you. It would be nice to have a quote of the day. But, I really don’t know, if I’d be able to keep that up. Well maybe, if all of you sent me your favorite quotes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you like it. If you find it annoying – please let me know and I’ll reconsider. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhow, here is the quote of the day from Patsy H Sampson

โ€œHuman successes, like human failures, are composed of one action at a time,

Time to criticize - time to praise

Today I received an email from a woman who had an annoying experience with a bus driver. She was upset about it for two days and then she sat down to write a long, essay style complaint letter to the bus company.

What a waste of life time!

Imagine the incident took, say, thirty seconds. Instead of refocussing on something nice, she spent the next 48 hours stewing about it – thus, being unhappy. Then she wrote the complaint letter passing all that bad energy on. Not enough with that, she talked and complained about the incident to many people
