Meditation: Love, Happiness and a Peaceful Mind

Feeling great and happy is an important component in successful manifesting. One way to get there is through meditation. I am sharing here with you a meditation I learned from a buddhist monk in Sri Lanka a long time ago and evolved over the years. I hope it makes you feel as happy as me. ūüôā

Find yourself a comfy place to sit: on a cushion on the floor, on your sofa or a favourite chair. Any place where you feel safe and cosy will do.

I also hold my hands open, palm upwards, fingers slightly spread and curling up. When I do so, I can feel my fingers tingle and pulse with energy that I can send out through my fingertips as I draw it in through the crown of my head. It is optional, but it adds to my feelings of happiness. So maybe you’d like to try this too.

Then close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. In. Out. In. Out …

1. Focus on yourself

  • Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • Oh God, please grant me love, happiness and a peaceful mind
  • Oh God, please grant me love, happiness and a peaceful mind
  • Oh God, please grant me love, happiness and a peaceful mind

2. Focus on your immediate family

These are the family members you live with or feel particularly close to. Of course this includes your pets, too. Think of them calmly as you think or say the following statements.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x Oh God, please grant my family love, happiness and a peaceful mind

3. Focus on your friends

These are your close friends.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant my friends love, happiness and a peaceful mind

4. Focus on your extended family

These are family that you do not see all the time, such as aunts, uncles, cousins and so forth. I also include people who have passed on.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x Oh God, please grant my¬†extended family¬†love, happiness and a peaceful mind

5. Focus on your neighbours

These are the neighbours that live close to you.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x Oh God, please grant my neighbours love, happiness and a peaceful mind

6. Focus on your village or town

These are the people who live in the same village or town as you.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant the people in this town / village love, happiness and a peaceful mind

7. Focus on your colleagues

These are the people who live in the same village or town as you.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant¬†my colleagues¬†love, happiness and a peaceful mind

8. Focus on your country

These are the people who live in the same country as you.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant¬†all the people in this country¬†love, happiness and a peaceful mind

9. Focus on this planet

These are the people who live with us on planet earth.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant¬†all the people on this planet¬†love, happiness and a peaceful mind

10. Focus on this universe

These are all life forms that live with us in this universe, be they human, non-human, physical or spiritual.

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant¬†all the life forms in this universe¬†love, happiness and a peaceful mind

11. Focus on yourself

Finally, come back to your self..

  • 3 x Dear God, my heart is open to you, please come into my heart
  • 3 x¬†Oh God, please grant¬†me¬†love, happiness and a peaceful mind
